They aren't very fond of us yet. I handle them at least once a day, but it's completely terrifying for them. At least the part where I pick them up. If I let them perch on my hand or the rocking chair downstairs, they're a bit happier. I tried buying their affections with some plain yogurt. No luck. I'll have to keep trying treats until I find something they like.

Oh you are so lucky to be rearing chicks. I bought my 3 girls last April as POL pulletts. When I was about 17 my mum tried hatching for a school project. We managed to raise 1 chick and eventually gave her away to a farm.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have found your blog. I love keeping chickens even if we are in a city!
Your pictures are great - love the blue egg! I loved your post on Digthedirt and am glad to have seen the reference to your blogs!
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome that you're raising chickens! Don't worry, they'll get used to you soon. Good luck with them! :)
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteWe haven't heard anything about The Girls lately. What are they up to? Maybe you should have taken them to the beach this week-end. Wouldn't that be a sight!?
